This Privacy Policy describes how Doina Design collects, uses, and protects the personal information you share when you visit this website, submit a project inquiry, or engage our services. We take your privacy seriously and handle your information with the same care we bring to everything else.
Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly to us, information collected automatically through your use of this website, and information from third-party platforms used to deliver our services.
Information You Provide Directly- Contact & Inquiry Forms: When you submit a contact form or the “Start Your Project” questionnaire, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and the project details you share — including project type, location, scale, timeline, investment range, and aesthetic preferences.
- Electronic Signature: When you sign a service agreement through our e-signature system, we collect your name, email address, drawn signature, IP address, and the timestamp of signing, as required for legal validity under the ESIGN Act.
- Payment Information: Payment is processed directly via Zelle. We do not collect or store your payment account details. Transaction references may be retained for bookkeeping purposes.
- Communications: If you contact us by email or phone, we retain records of that correspondence as part of your project file.
- Usage Data: Squarespace, our website platform, automatically collects information about how you interact with this site — including pages visited, time spent, referring URLs, and browser or device type.
- IP Address: Your IP address may be logged by Squarespace analytics and by our e-signature provider for security and legal record purposes.
- Cookies: This website uses cookies placed by Squarespace to support site functionality and analytics. See Section 04 for details.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect solely to deliver and improve our services, communicate with you about your project, and meet our legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for advertising.
- To respond to your inquiry and determine whether Doina Design is the right fit for your project.
- To deliver interior design services — including conducting discovery calls, developing design concepts, sourcing materials, and coordinating with vendors relevant to your project.
- To process and record your service agreement in compliance with applicable law.
- To communicate project updates, timelines, material selections, and next steps throughout the engagement.
- To maintain financial records and meet tax and accounting obligations.
- To improve this website by understanding how visitors use it, through aggregated and anonymized analytics data.
- To comply with legal obligations where applicable, including responding to lawful requests from authorities.
A note on marketing: We do not send marketing emails, newsletters, or promotional communications unless you have explicitly requested them. If you have, you may unsubscribe at any time by replying to any such email with “Unsubscribe” in the subject line.
How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers: We use third-party platforms to operate this website and deliver services — including Squarespace (website hosting and analytics) and esignatures.com (electronic contract signing). These providers process your information on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy policies. See Section 05 for details.
- Professional collaborators: With your knowledge, we may share relevant project details with contractors, vendors, or other design professionals engaged to deliver your project. We share only what is necessary.
- Legal compliance: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights or the safety of any person.
- Business transfer: In the unlikely event of a business transfer, merger, or acquisition, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. You would be notified in advance.
Outside of the circumstances listed above, your information stays with us and the platforms listed in Section 05.
Cookies & Tracking
This website uses cookies — small text files stored on your browser — to support basic functionality and to understand how visitors use the site. We use only the cookies placed by Squarespace as part of its standard website platform.
What Squarespace Cookies Do- Analytics cookies track aggregated, anonymized information about pages visited and time spent — helping us understand which content is useful.

Payment transactions are processed directly between your bank and ours via Zelle. Doina Design does not handle, store, or have access to your banking credentials or payment account information.

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to deliver our services, maintain accurate business records, and comply with our legal obligations.
- Project inquiries that did not proceed: Retained for up to 12 months, then deleted unless you have asked us to keep your information on file for future projects.
- Active project files: Retained for the duration of the project engagement plus 3 years following project completion, in line with standard professional service and tax record requirements.
- Signed contracts and financial records: Retained for 7 years as required by California tax and business law.
- Website analytics data: Managed by Squarespace in accordance with their data retention policies. Aggregated analytics are not linked to individual identities.
You may request deletion of your personal information at any time (see Section 07). Where legal obligations require us to retain certain records, we will inform you of those requirements.
Your Rights Under California Law (CCPA)
As a California-based business serving California residents, we comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). If you are a California resident, you have the following rights regarding your personal information:
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information: Doina Design does not sell, share for cross-context behavioral advertising, or otherwise monetize your personal information. This applies to all visitors and clients regardless of residency.
Children’s Privacy
This website is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at doina.curchi@icloud.com and we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
For users between 13 and 16 years of age, we do not sell or share personal information without affirmative authorization as required under the CCPA.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or the services we offer. When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page.
